Welcome to Sherwood Farm
“Riding a horse is not a gentle hobby, to be picked up and laid down like a game of Solitaire. It is a grand passion.”
-RALPH WALDO EMERSON
Sherwood Farm is an A-Circuit show barn offering hunter, jumper and equitation instruction and training, young horse development, sales and leasing of quality horses, ponies and young prospects. Owned and operated by the Lee/Hannah family since 2009, we bring experience, knowledge and equestrian tradition and etiquette to our clients. At Sherwood, happy and healthy horses are paramount; and dogs and cats and wildlife too! Ethical treatment of, respect for, and responsibility towards all animals is fostered, and evident in the level of care and attention provided.

Lessons
Under the coaching and training of equestrian Robin Hannah-Carlton, in turn mentored by Marilyn Lee-Hannah, we provide a safe, courteous and happy environment in which to excel.
Riding lessons are conducted throughout the year. Regularly scheduled weekly lessons are preferred and most beneficial to the developing rider. Our lessons are kept to 2-4 students, enabling each rider to receive vital individualized instruction while still enjoying the company and fun of others.
“The best farm we have been at. Always willing to help the rider advance and improve. The best decision I made for my daughter.” – CHERYL G.

Training
We offer training programs for young or green horses from ground work and backing to competition. Sherwood Farm is designed to keep you and your horse safe and fit and to provide an ideal training environment for hunter, jumper or equitation riders and competitors and for young horse development.
Contact us to find out about a program tailored to the individual needs of you and your horse.
“Robin is amazing. She takes her time to explain everything and make sure I understand what to do. I’ve been riding here for 5 or 6 years (or longer) and I wouldn’t change it.” – SARAH ELIZABETH S.

Showing
We compete on the A Circuits, Central West Trillium, Niagara Cup Series, Thoroughbred Shows and in the United States, including Lexington, Kentucky in fall and Ocala, Florida in winter.
Of our horses and riders showing, they ranked in the top 10 of their divisions, most in the top 5.
“Every so often I see a photo of an animal in need, and it calls my name. It’s strange really. It’s a sense. Both my girls and son have it, too.” – MARILYN LEE

Rescue
We are passionate about the welfare of animals, and have provided a soft landing for many we’ve rescued from dire circumstances. Supporting our efforts is Bit-by-Bit, an initiative started in 2015 by a small group of our barn friends that raises funds to help offset the costs of giving horses second chances. An annual fundraising dinner, golf tournament, and yearly calendars are the major fundraisers spearheaded by Bit-by-Bit. We are proud to showcase that any horse, with the right love and care, can become something special.
